A look at Liverpool’s next six Premier League fixtures after Bournemouth humbling

Liverpool next six Premier League fixtures compared to top-four rivals

Following the disappointing 1-0 loss to Bournemouth away from home, Liverpool now have a tough road ahead of them to make it to the top four. Even though it was the case earlier as well, the confidence gathered after the 7-0 win against Manchester United all would have fallen down after this shambolic game against The Cherries.

We’ll get to the league in a minute, but before any of the next league fixtures, Liverpool have to face European Royalty Real Madrid away from home in the Champions League Round of 16-second leg on a three-goal deficit.

The self-confidence in the team will go up ten-fold in case we win that game, but early doors to say anything right now as Liverpool’s form is certainly nothing to go by. One week, we demolish our rivals, and the next week, we lose to 20th-placed teams in the league.

Currently occupying the fifth position in the Premier League standings, Jurgen Klopp’s team trails Tottenham Hotspur by three points, with both teams having played an equal number of games. Tottenham Hotspur is scheduled to face Nottingham Forest in their upcoming match this weekend.

Next six league fixtures for the Reds

However, speaking of Liverpool, our first game after the international break will be against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City away from home on 1st April, followed by a visit to London to play Chelsea. We fly back to Merseyside to face Arsenal at Anfield and this trio of games could prove to be the season-defining point for the Reds.

After the Gunners’ visit to Anfield, we have a fairly easier run of games, against Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and West Ham. We only play Forest at home, the rest away from Anfield. While these games are also not easy by any means, we could be confident of getting maximum points from this triage of fixtures.

However, we cannot say anything in football. Expect the most unexpected when it is Liverpool Football Club in the discussion. One week, we are Prime Barcelona and the next week we struggle to make ends meet against a struggling 20th-placed side in the English top tier.

In conclusion, Liverpool faces a tough challenge in their pursuit of a top-four finish in the Premier League this season. The next six games will be crucial for the Reds, and they will need to be at their best to secure vital points against some tough opposition.
