Bravemansgame emerged as Britain’s leading staying chaser in the 2022/23 National Hunt season.
Paul Nicholls’ stable star romped to glory in the prestigious King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day before coming off second best after a brilliant battle with Galopin Des Champs in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Defending the King George crown and a second crack at the Gold Cup are the top targets for Bravemansgame in the new campaign, with fresh faces and familiar foes set to be in opposition. The eight-year-old made his seasonal reappearance in the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby but a last-fence blunder saw him lose out to Gentlemansgame.

Bravemansgame is set to take his chance in the Betfair Chase at Haydock on Saturday, November 25. Daryl Jacob is booked to ride as regular partner Harry Cobden will be at Ascot.
Nicholls told our pals at Betfair: “An update for everybody. He schooled this morning nicely. Daryl Jacob rode him, and he runs on Saturday.
“Daryl has got all the experience in the world. He rides out a little bit here, so he got on great with him. We’ve confirmed him this morning, and we’re just going to monitor the ground during the week. If it was heavy, he definitely won’t run, but I’m encouraged by the weather forecast. It looks like it’s drying up.”
The King George at Kempton on Tuesday, December 26 remains Bravemansgame’s big target before the spring.
