Liverpool will already look different next season, with Jurgen Klopp leaving the club at the end of the season. The German coach has been the boss of the team for nearly nine years, and next season, Liverpool will need to be under a new coach. While the club is looking for a new coach for next season, Liverpool could also be targeting a few new players already. Liverpool fans fear that Klopp’s departure could cause other key players like Virgil Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah to leave with him. Liverpool made a couple of signings last summer, which overhauled the midfield. With youngsters shining for Liverpool in those positions as well, the club is still considering bringing in a midfielder this summer to add depth to the squad.

Liverpool signed Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, Alexis Mac Allister, and Ryan Gravenberch last summer to rebuild their midfield, and all have delivered in the eyes of Liverpool fans. Endo has become the main center defensive midfielder, while Mac Allister and Szoboszlai are the midfielder ahead of Endo. Gravenberch has also become a solid option from the bench but could also start and be effective for the team. The issue Liverpool and many other teams have this season is the constant injuries.

While the injuries have been a problem, Klopp has relied on young players to occupy those positions and deliver. Young midfielders like Bobby Clark and James McConnell have stepped up in the absence of first-team players. The club and the fans are happy with their performances, but Liverpool is considering signing an extra midfielder who can add depth to the squad and could potentially start. Liverpool will soon face Atalanta in the Europa League, and they are interested in one of their best midfielders.

Koopmeiners recently spoke about leaving Atalanta this summer and said, “I told Atalanta that I want to move next summer. My girlfriend and I are having a lot of fun in Italy, but for some clubs in the Premier League, I will even put up with the rain.”
