Dutch Grand Prix Like no Other has been crowned the best and most sustainable promoter of the year 2023! At a festive evening organized by Formula One Management, the Dutch Grand Prix organization walked away with two awards. The Dutch company was honored with the award for best promoter of the year during The F1 Promoter Awards held at the British Museum in London. But perhaps more importantly, the Dutch Grand Prix organization was also named the most sustainable of all F1 races in 2023.

The awards are given to the promoter who best fulfills Formula 1’s mission to create the world’s greatest sports and entertainment spectacle. A promoter who also demonstrates a clear commitment to the evolution and growth of Formula 1 worldwide in their execution. The assessment was prepared by a panel of key figures from the F1 organization and also takes into account feedback from fans. Representatives of the Dutch Grand Prix organization received the award from Stefano Dominicali, CEO of Formula One Management.

“We are naturally very proud of this,” says Van Overdijk. “Being seen as the best promoter among all these world cities is of course a wonderful reward. We work very hard with three organizations to achieve this: TIG Sports, Sportvibes, and Circuit Zandvoort. The first three editions of our event have been seen as a great sporting and organizational success. Particularly socially and economically, the Dutch Grand Prix has given the region a tremendous boost and has put Zandvoort back on the map worldwide.”

“Being rewarded for a varied spectacle in terms of music, show, and activities in the fan zones and grandstands is absolutely fantastic. With this, we have shown the world how the Netherlands can give a grand international event its own identity through music, providing both national and international fans with an unparalleled experience,” continues Van Overdijk.

Van Overdijk is also very pleased with the award for the most sustainable promoter. “In terms of sustainability, we have taken many steps in recent years. Not least because 98% of our visitors come to the event in a sustainable way. But we are also proud of the ‘smart grid’ that we created in 2022, where we bundled generators for peak demand. This has drastically reduced the amount of fuel used, and furthermore, we use HVO100 fuel, which saves an additional 82.5% on our footprint. In 2023, we expanded the energy supply with a fixed power connection and solar panels. In total, we have eliminated 94.5% of our emissions from energy production. And in 2023, we started testing a hydrogen generator so that we can continue to make progress next year,” concludes Van Overdijk.
