Union St Gilloise face an almost impossible task to qualify for the next round of the Europa Conference League. The Belgian league leaders are going into the second leg of their clash with Turkish giants Fenerbahçe 3-0 down. The Turkish side were dominant in the first leg to inflict a rare defeat on the side that have been leading the Belgian Pro League for much of this season.

With the gap to second place Anderlecht closing, and the side also having qualified for the Belgian cup final, there is little pressure on Union for the second leg. Many may expect the side to put out a weakened side in Istanbul, given that there lead over Anderlecht is just six points currently. The side have a tough final league fixture against Antwerp before the play-offs for the title begin. However, Union never give up and always try to win games. Yet even they may have to admit overturning a three goal deficit against a strong Fenerbahçe will prove difficult. At the weekend they drew 1-1 with Gent at home.

Fenerbahçe on the other hand come into the game having hammered Pendikspor 4-1 at home. They were made to work for their goals, with three coming in the final minutes of the game. They remain second in the Turkish top flight, two points behind Galatasaray. The side have only lost once in the league all season, which did come at home against Trabzonspor.
