PELLA— Central College had a pair of student-athletes recognized as the American Rivers Conference performers of the week in their sports Tuesday morning.

Sophomore women’s track and field athlete Olivia Bohlen (Belle Plaine) and junior men’s tennis player Ayden Fletcher (junior, Waukee) were chosen as the best in the league for their respective sports.

Bohlen was chosen as the field events performer of the week after winning the heptathlon at the John Green Combined Events hosted by Doane University (Neb.).  She totaled 4,737 points, which gives us the sixth best mark so far in Division III this season.

Central’s track and field teams are competing at the Drake Relays and Kip Janvrin Open this week.

Fletcher was 4-0 individually for the Dutch during a 2-0 weekend as a team. He secured a pair of wins as the team’s No. 1 singles player against the University of Dubuque and Loras College. He also was victorious twice in the No. 2 doubles slot.

Central returns to the courts in Waverly Friday for a 4 p.m. match against Wartburg College.
